Can the finance company refinance my car without my consent?
I found out the car had been refinanced when I went to get a new car. I brought the car through drive time and they are the ones who financed me. I have received no corrrespondence from them saying the car was refinanced either.

are you sure it was refinanced, and not sold to another company? that happens all the time. and yes they can sell their notes to another company without your consent.

Go back and read the papers you signed when you got financing in the first place, it’s in there. It’s very common for lenders to sell the note to another company and they don’t have to notify you or get your permission, your signature on the loan application gave them permission to do so. The only thing that changes from your viewpoint is a different name and address to send the payment to.
